2003
Event: Yamaha Asianbeat Malaysia Finals
Award: Champions
Date: 14th Decmber 2003

National champions at last! Uglymen made many "firsts"
in this year competition. The first band to win without even playing a solo
in the whole song. The first
winner to win with non-english / malay song (its Cantonese by
the way). The first band from kampung alor setar to ever made it into top
3 and won. The first
band to emphasize so much on choreographic movements rather than
instruments performance, by doing this, michael abandoned his guitarist role
and
focused on vocal and dance steps in the song.

Good cash, thanks Yamaha
