2005 FEATURED STUDENT : Cheng
Heng Lih
One
of the best guitar students I ever taught, and certainly one of the most industrious
guitarist I ever come accross. Curently in USM, just came back for a month's
lesson and will be back in May 2006 for another stint here.
Heng Lih was into pop guitar back in 2003 before I brought Mr Big, Extreme,
RHCP, Steve Vai etc into his music dictionary. He is also one of the Keat Hwa
crazy gang (San Sit, Cheng Kok, Zie Loon...) Thanks for coming to the Uglymen
Unplugged Show!! All the best to you in your studies.
Ah
Yeow, this crazy funny super hillarious but talented guy is so much fun, you
wont be bored if you hang out with him, esp girls ;-)
He plays the piano and electric guitar, though I would say he is a better piano
player than a guitarist. He likes to mix classical with pop stuff esp ala Xjapan
and some fast solos, but there are still rooms for improvement as he some times.....
lazy.
He had performed many times and was also a member of the MuZik Sistem annual
concert student band.
Currently studying in Penang and taking lessons fortnightly.
Ok ok, I mention this too, he is also a drummer!

to the electric guitar not long ago. She had performed in a few concerts and
hopes to step up a gear in her playing in this new year. All the best to you
in both your studies and guitar adventure.

for National Service. Now (Mar 06) she's back, and its time to buck up again.
Hope to see you this Friday then

2007 Featured Student
Name: Ric Ritianny Chow
Lessons: Elec Guitar / Elec Bass
What Ric wants to say: I want to say a huge thank you to mike, it
was because knowing him in 1995 that changed my life. He encouraged me in
furthering my studies in college, taught me English when I did not even know
how to read a simple sentence. He also openned my mind to various music that
i really enjoyed, teaching me how to express myself through music. Besides,
he is also a good friend of mine and he also influenced me to watch soccer.
Now, whenever there is a live match involving Manchester United, please dont
call me, because i am very busy.
What mike wants to say: Ric actually also followed another example
of me ~ he was quite thin when he got to know me in 1995, eh.... now, he is
same size as me and is often mistaken as me when my friends see him on the
street..

Name: Ung Chuin Ling -UCL-
Lessons: Elec Guitar
What -UCL- wants to say: It is really fun learning music here, i
get the chance of learning different types of music and expressing myself.
I hope to share different kinds of music through my playing (perofrmance)
and wish others could also open their hearts to music from other cultures
such as Super Junior.
What mike wants to say: Chuin Ling is full of passion for Jpop type
of music. She works on her home work but it seemed only those which she loved
a lot would end up the best (wink wink) I think i mentioned this in the reports
in uglymen.net. You have the talent, and dont waste it.
